Colic Awareness Week

It is #ColicAwarenessWeek. Do you know how to spot signs of colic?

1. Biting or kicking at their flank or abdomen

2. Frequently lying down or trying to roll

3. Frequently looking at their side

4. Little or no manure (smaller balls, very dry, covered in mucus)

5. Little to no appetite

6. Little to no gut sounds

7. Elevated pulse, rapid breathing, abnormal sweating

If you notice these symptoms, it’s time to get your vet on the phone.
